Symphonic Band

Our Symphonic Band meets during 1st period and is home to our wind instrument musicians. During class, students focus on the fundamentals of playing a wind instrument, as well as the finer expressive elements of musical performance. In the Fall, students focus on marching and pep band music. In the spring, students begin to experience competing in festival competitions while developing their musical skills. Additionally, our Symphonic Band travels to theme parks each year, such as Disneyland and Six Flags Magic Mountain, to experience unique music opportunities and have fun after a season of hard work!

Jazz Band

Our Jazz Band meets during 4th period and features some of our most advanced musicians wishing to explore different styles of music such as swing jazz, latin jazz, rock, funk. Each year, our jazz musicians perform for local community events and in festival competitions, giving them plenty of travel opportunities! Additionally, our Jazz Band also travels to theme parks each year to perform and have fun after a season of hard work!

Percussion

The Percussion Ensemble meets during 5th period and is home to the heartbeat of Firebaugh High School. These students meet after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays to be a part of marching/pep drumline. In class, our students spend a year exploring different areas of percussion including concert percussion, large percussion ensemble, chamber percussion, and solo percussion. These musicians perform alongside our marching band and concert band, but also experience their own festivals in the spring. Additionally, our Percussion also travels to theme parks each year to perform and have fun after a season of hard work!

Mariachi

Our brand new Mariachi meets during 7th period and features both beginning and advanced musicians! In this class, students explore mariachi's musical styles such as boleros, rancheras, and corridos. As we grow our program, students will be able to experience playing opportunities in our local community as well as with local mariachis, Fresno State musicians, and even festival competitions at theme parks!

Marching Band

Our award-winning Eagle Marching Band meets Mondays and Thursdays after school in the fall to prepare and compete in parade competitions across the state! Additionally, the EMB brings the hype to each football game, filling the stands with music for our incredible football team and cheerleaders!

Winter Guard

Our Winter Guard meets Tuesdays and Thursdays after school during the fall and spring to prepare and compete in competitions across the Central Valley! Instrumental students have a great opportunity to learn movement, dance, and weaponry as they bring music to life and visually interpret its emotion.

Indoor Percussion

Our Indoor Percussion meets Tuesdays and Thursdays after school during the winter and spring to prepare and compete in competitions across the Central Valley! Instrumental students have a great opportunity to learn a percussion instrument and participate in a highly competitive marching activity. This activity creatively combines theater and percussion to put on a production that showcases our students yearlong efforts.
